Zlin Region
Zlin Region is the region of various natural sceneries of Bile Karpaty (White Carpathian Mountains) with numerous rare plant and animal species, vast vineyards on the sunny slopes of Slovacko Region or fertile plains of Hana. The main areas are Wallachia, Hana and Slovacko Regions. Each of them is special, each of them offers something unique. They have some common features though - fervid hospitality, delicious cuisine, rich history and architecture, traditions and Moravian folklore. Hundreds of marked hiking trails are ideal for walking.
The centre of the region is Zlin - forever connected with the name of Tomas Bata, nicknamed the shoe king. It attracts especially modern architecture enthusiasts particularly for its remarkable collection of functionalistic buildings. And do you also know that the first Central European skyscraper is located in Zlin? But there is a lot to see even for the historical monument enthusiasts. They can visit the Castle of Buchlov, Kromeriz Chateau, Velehrad pilgrim place, romantic chateau in Lesna or the biggest Moravian spa resort Luhacovice with numerous Art-Nouveau spa houses influenced by popular architecture of Wallachia.
