Slovak National Theatre of Opera and Ballet
Slovak National Theatre is one of the most important cultural institutions in Slovakia.
Currently, the Slovak National Theatre is a so-called theatre of public service and it is divided into three parts: Opera, Ballet and Drama. Opera and ballet parts of SNT were held at historical building of SNT, which is located on Hviezdoslavovo square. Two other theatre scenes belong to drama: Theathre of Pavol Orzsagh Hviezdoslav on Laurinska street and Small scene of the Slovak National Theatre. In the first quarter of 2007, the Slovak National Theatre moved to the new building on Pribinova street 7, in which perform (since 14. 2. 2007) all three parts of the theatre - in opera and ballet hall, drama hall and experimental studio. These three theatre halls provide about 1700 places for spectators. Apart from the new building, the Slovak National Theatre will continue using the historical building with alternating performances of Opera, Ballet and Drama.
