The Protected Landscape Area of the Slavkovský Forest is situated on the triangle of Karlovy Vary, Mariánské Lázně and Františkovy Lázně.
On the border of the West-Bohemian and the Karlovy Vary Region. It lies in the altitude of 374 - 983 m above sea level and covers an area of 610 km2. The landscape pattern is various – apart from forests stretching close to the mountain peaks there are also lowlands with lakes. Three volcanoes (Andělská hora, Komorní hůrka, Uhelný trh), originating in the tertiary period, are certainly one of the main attractions for tourists as well as numerous mineral springs.
