Every year the Highest Burgrave at Prague Castle comes to life and presents historical and contemporary cribs.
Visitors can see more than forty cribs presented in covered area of the atrium. One of the unique pieces is 200 years old - it is a desk crib painted on a cardboard which served as a temple crib in Lodhéřov till the end of the Second World War. And it is the crib from Lodhéřov dating back to the years 1780-1840 that people can see for the first time in all its beauty at Prague Castle. The exhibition presents the work of contemporary crib makers and also shows historical epochs and styles. It includes for example home-made painted cribs from the Region of Orlickoústecko, dating back to the turn of the 19th and the 20th century, folk carved crib from the area of Orlické Mountains and also the work from M. Florian from the mid of the 20th century, anticipating his later Master works. You can also see mock-up models (figures), crib made of bread mix and dressed up crib figures. The exhibition proceeds will be given by the Agency Schok for charitable purposes - Endowment Fund of Livie and Václav Klaus (Czech President and his wife).
