Monumental memorial of Rabi Chatam Sofer is the pride of the Jewish community in Bratislava.
Chatam Sofer raised hundreds of Rabi and they have been spreading his teachings all over Europe. He was a very reputable person and many significant European Jews used to come to him for advice. He wrote and published collections of religious songs. The area above his tomb is very well maintained and this architecturally remarkable memorial is a dignified place of last rest of important Jewish Rabi and an attractive monument of Bratislava's Jewish heritage. It's located before the tunnel on the embankment of Bratislava. On the tombstone of the Rabi there is an inscribed Hebrew writing.
