ICF Canoe/Kayak Slalom Racing World Cup 2008 - Prague
June 20 - June 22, 2008 the ICF Canoe/Kayak Slalom Racing World Cup 2008 will be held in Prague and the slalom course in Prague (Troja quarter) is going to welcome again the canoeists from all over the world. The World Cup is held by the Czech Association of Canoeists on the lower course of Vltava.
Just like the last year, also this year our company EuroAgentur Hotels & Travel provides accommodation for the participants of this event.
The slalom course was built in the early 1990's and consists of variable obstacles made of tires filled with concrete, concrete panels and wooden balks.
From Monday (June 16) test runs will be held and Friday (June 20) will see qualification heats in four categories. On Saturday (June 21) men's canoeists and women's kayakers will compete for overall victory and on Sunday (June 22) the men's kayakers and two-man canoe teams will try to win.
This year, the Czech team will have to try and equal its performance last year, when kayaker Vavřinec Hradílek, canoeist Stanislav Ježek and the legendary kayaker Štěpánka Hilgertová all took gold at the Prague World Cup event.
Apart from this unique sports event, the quarter Troja with its famous ZOO offers you numerous cultural and natural monuments such as the Botanic garden, Troja Castle or Stromovka.
We are very pleased to provide accommodation in the Prague hotels of EuroAgentur Hotels & Travel for the sportsmen of such an important event.
