Easter market in Prague 2012
Easter, festivals of spring, awakening nature, sunlight and blossoming flowers – what more do you want after the long cold winter?
We would like to invite you to the traditional Easter festivals and markets, which take place in the whole Prague. The main market is placed traditionally in the Old Town Square, where you can experience many Easter attractions, traditions, traditional Czech food and of course, Easter decorations.
Easter market stalls with souvenirs and traditional goods will be opened daily March 24th - April 15th from 9 a.m. till 7 p.m., at weekends the opening hours will be extended to 8 p.m. Food stalls can be opened up to midnight.
The Old Town Easter workshop for children will work from Monday to Friday, daily 3-6 p.m., at weekends it will be opened from 12 o’clock to 6 p.m.
At the Prague market places you would definitely see many Easter symbols like “kraslice”- painted Easter eggs or “pomlazka”- braided whip of twigs.
Czech Easter is impossible to imagine without nicely decorated eggs – kraslice - which are considered to be the most beautiful in the world. You shouldn’t miss out traditional Easter dishes, which are very delicious.
Celebrate the coming spring with us, its first day and Easter –
we will be glad to welcome you in Prague at Easter markets.
You can also enjoy accompanying culture programme in the spirit of Czech traditions, which will be performed on different places.
